SAP assessments and EPC certificates

Current Building Regulations insist on SAP Calculations and an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) for every new residential dwelling and converted dwelling. The EPC contains information about the building’s energy use and typical energy costs, and rates properties on a scale between A, the most efficient, and G, the least efficient.

Water Efficiency Calculations

Building Control now require Part G – Water Efficiency Calculations to demonstrate that all new residential dwelling comply with the regulations of 125ltrs per person per day. Some councils may set this target lower or you may have a planning condition that requires compliance with a lower use.

Energy and Sustainability Statements

Most Local Planning Authorities require an Energy and Sustainability Statement to be submitted as part of a planning application. This is often combined with a requirement to provide a reduction in carbon emissions and energy use of the building through onsite generation of energy using Low or Zero Carbon (LZC) and Renewable energy technologies.
